What is a Florida RV Manufacturer, Distributor, Importer, or Van Converter Bond?
A Florida Recreational Vehicle Manufacturer, Distributor, Importer or Van Converter Bond is a $10,000 surety bond required for licensure to operate as an RV manufacturer, distributor, importer or van converter.
An RV manufacturer, distributor, importer or van converter is defined as any person who manufactures or assembles recreational vehicles or who manufactures or installs on previously assembled truck chassis special bodies or equipment which, when installed, form an integral part of the RV and which constitute a major manufacturing alteration; or who, in whole or in part, sells or distributes RV’s to RV dealers or maintains distributor representatives; or who imports vehicles from a foreign country into the U.S. or into this state for the purpose of sale or lease.

Customers with good credit scores could qualify for a rate as low as 1% of the bond amount or less. The bond is required by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, Division of Motorist Services, as required by Florida State Statutes Sections 320.60-320.70. The Obligee on the bond reads as the duly appointed and qualified Director of the Division of Motorist Services of the State of Florida.
